Ana Cristina (Born Ana Cristina Alvarez) on June 2, 1985 in Miami, Florida, to Cuban American parents Rene and Teresa Alvarez. Ana Cristina showed exceptional talent at a very young age. She debuted in a local TV show, Sábado Grande at the age of 6. Afterward, she began appearing in other TV shows and eventually landed a recording contract in Sony's International label, Sony Discos at the age of 15. She began working with respected producers such as the founding member of Miami Sound Machine (Emilio Estefan, Rudy Perez, Kike Santander and Estefano.) The result of which is her eponymous debut album. Spawning the single, A Un Paso De Mi Amor where she was compared to the famous R&B singer, Mariah Carey. Her talent can be heard from popular soap opera theme songs Vale Todo and Vivan los Niños. Univision Network also took interest in her and asked her to sing the theme song for the coverage of the 2006 World Cup entitled You Can Change the World.
