Consequence (born Dexter Raymond Mills, Jr. on June 14, 1977) is an American hip hop artist from Queens, New York. Dexter Raymond Mills was born on June 14, 1977 in Queens, New York. He grew up in a very poor section of the area. Mills is the younger cousin of fellow rapper Q-Tip. When he was younger, Dexter developed a love for hip hop music and was a huge fan of Rakim. In his early years he used to follow his cousin and his group, A Tribe Called Quest. Soon after, they got a record deal and he tagged along for the ride.
