"Slow ride", "Fool for the city" y "Honey hush", representan el espíritu en esencia de Foghat, la banda inglesa de hard rock blues boogie, liderada por Lonesome Dave Peverett y secundado por Roger Earl en batería y el guitarrista Rod Price. Aunque sus integrantes provenían de circuitos con aroma a blues inglés de raíz, la banda no tardó en romper moldes a fuerza de boogie rock. Así, en un temprano 1972, se pusieron bajo la atenta mirada y las manos del productor Dave Edmunds. Genio de los controles que en su día dio gloria a la carrera de Elvis Presley, ahora esparcía su sabiduría sobre unos tipos que querían comerse el mundo con cada uno de sus guitarrazos. Ingleses genuinamente americanos, Foghat fue profeta fuera de sus fronteras. Discos como "Energized" (1974), que contenía el inolvidable "Honey Hush"; "Rock and Roll Outlaws" (1974), "Fool for The City" (1975), que los inmortalizó gracias a la ya citada "Slow ride"; y "Foghat Live" (1977), transformaron a la banda en verdadero suceso de venta y público en Estados Unidos. Diversos intentos de reunión desde fines de los 80 y gran parte de los 90, llegan a su fin el 7 de febrero de 2000 con la muerte de su fundador y líder, Dave Peverett, tras una larga lucha contra el cáncer.
