Gang of Four

Gang of Four es una banda formada en Leeds, Inglaterra, en 1977. Estuvieron activos hasta 1986 y reunidos a principios de los 90?s y luego en 2004 con la alineación original. Su estilo se destaca por una aún actual mezcla de punk, funk y dance, un género conocido como post-punk o dance-punk y que compartían con Joy Division, The Raincoats, Devo, New Order (sí, despues de Ian), entre otras. Su disco más reconocido fue ?Entertaiment?, donde la mezcla mas clara de funk y punk se hace notar (Se nota influencia en los primeros años de los Red Hot Chili Peppers como referencia), sus siguientes discos reflejan mas la mezcla del punk/funk y lo electrónico. Destaca el contenido social de sus letras, con influencia de pensamiento socialista y de denuncia contra las injuticias del capitalismo, al grado que en este sentido se les clasifica como representantes de un neo-marxismo punk. Sus actuales hijos se entornan en el post-punk revival, siendo The Rapture, !!!, Clinic, Art Brut, Death From Above, Klaxons, Pretty Girls Make Graves. Discografía: Entertaiment!
