Jefferson Airplane fue una banda de Estados Unidos surgida en la ciudad de San Francisco (California), pionera del movimiento psicodélico influenciado por el LSD. La actuación en agosto de 1969 en Woodstock es considerada uno de los momentos más memorables del rock. A lo largo del tiempo en función de las salidas y entradas de miembros fueron variando su nombre a Jefferson Starship, al más simple Starship antes de convertirse en Jefferson Starship The Next Generation en 1991.
