Kevin Michael (b.1985 in Chester, Pennsylvania) is R&B, Soul, Funk, Pop artist. Born to an Italian mother and an African-American father in a Philadelphia suburb, Michael's mixed race heritage deeply influences his music[1]. A self-taught vocalist, Michael has memories of bursting into song as a child, ""My mom was so embarrassed to take me to the mall," he recalls with a laugh, "I would sing 'Me So Horny' at the top of my lungs!"[2] He received attention from Virgin Records while still a teenager, but ultimately signed with Atlantic Records and their Downtown Records imprint[3]. His first EP Ya Dig? was featured only on iTunes and the single "We All Want The Same Thing" was featured on iTunes Store as the Single of the Week for May 8, 2007.[citation needed] His single "We All Want The Same Thing" features rapper Lupe Fiasco and was featured in a Verizon Wireless V Cast Song ID commercial.[4]
