Prima J is a Mexican-American pop musical duo, that is composed of Mexican cousins Janelle Martinez and Jessica Martinez. They made their debut in 2007 with the single "Rockstar" for the Bratz Motion Picture Soundtrack. They were discovered by former Wild Orchid member Stefanie Ridel.[1] They have recently completed the recording of their debut album, which was released on June 17, 2008. Prima J also makes a brief appearance in Bratz, auditioning for the high school talent show, and three of the stars of Bratz, Logan Browning, Janel Parrish, and Nathalia Ramos, appear in the Rockstar music video. In the Bratz, they also sang the brief lyrics of "Take It To The Maximum" when Sasha (Logan Browning) had done her cheerleading, "It's My Party" lyrics when Sasha (Logan Browning) was doing the geeky girl lipgloss and gave the geeky girl her necklace in the chapter of the "operation mingle" that Yasmin (Nathalia Ramos) had decided on at the lunch courtyard table, and "Kick It" during their audition for the school talent show. The group's name comes from the fact they are cousins (prima is the female version of the Spanish word for cousin) whose names begin with the letter J. They have a new song called "Corazón (You're Not Alone)".
