Ran Blake (born April 20, 1935) is an American pianist and composer. He is an important figure in the "Third Stream" movement initiated by composer and New England Conservatory of Music president Gunther Schuller which combined elements of classical and jazz. He is a faculty member at NEC, the first American conservatory to offer a jazz degree, where he has led the Third Stream Department (now known as the Department of Contemporary Improvisation) since 1973. He earned a bachelor's degree from Bard College.
