Spank Rock is American rapper Naeem Juwan and producer Armani XXXchange. His style is generally described as a mix of underground alternative rap, and electro. Spank Rock began performing in Philadelphia, where their reputation quickly increased. They later toured with Hollertronix and M.I.A.; they also toured with Beck in 2006. Their lineup consists of Spank Rock (Naeem Juwan) with any of producer Armani XXXchange (Alex Epton), Chris Rockswell (Chris Devlin), Ronnie Darko (Ronald Rubarth), and rapper-singer Amanda Blank. Chris Rockswell and Ronnie Darko (Devlin & Darko) are also part of Baltimore Bass Connection (BBC), among other acts such as Pase Rock. Spank Rock's debut album YoYoYoYoYo was released in 2006 on the Big Dada record label. His most recent release, a 5 song EP Bangers & Cash made in collaboration with producer/DJ and former Disco D intern, Benny Blanco, was inspired by the booty bass sounds of 2 Live Crew. Spank Rock is soon to record his second full length album.
