Stan Roto Walker (born 23 October 1990), is a New Zealand recording artist and actor. Born in Melbourne, Australia, Walker auditioned for the seventh series of Australian Idol in 2009 and became the winner. After Idol he subsequently signed a recording contract with Sony Music Australia. In 2009, Walker released his debut studio album Introducing... Stan Walker, which peaked in the top three of the ARIA Albums Chart[1] and featured his first New Zealand number one hit single "Black Box".[2] Less than a year later, he released his second studio album, From the Inside Out which also peaked within the top three of the ARIA Albums Chart[3] and spawned the hit singles "Unbroken" and "Choose You". In 2010 Walker won four New Zealand Music Awards, including two for "Highest Selling New Zealand Single" for "Black Box".
