Radio de The Classic Crime

The Classic Crime is a alternative/indie band from Seattle, Washington. They are currently signed to Tooth & Nail Records. The band consists of Matt MacDonald (vocals), Alan Clark (bass), Robert "Cheeze" Negrin (guitar), Paul "Skip" Erickson (drums), and Justin DuQue (guitar). Their debut album Albatross was released on May 23, 2006. The band has over 3 million plays on Myspace. Albatross had the highest debut sales in the history of Tooth & Nail records with over 4,000 sales in the first week it was released.[3] The band has just finished recording their second full length record The Silver Cord to be released July 22, 2008. The band has toured with A Change Of Pace, A Static Lullaby, Quietdrive, I Am Ghost, So They Say,[4]Just Surrender, Powerspace, Mest, Alister, Aiden, and Scary Kids Scaring Kids.[5] They have also toured with fellow Tooth & Nail bands Anberlin, Emery, MxPx, Project 86, The Fold, and Run Kid Run. The Classic Crime will also will be on the 2008 Warped Tour. This will be their second time playing the Warped Tour after their original spot on the 2006 tour. Some fans have assumed that The Classic Crime is a "Christian band" due to being signed on to Tooth & Nail Records. Also adding to the confusion is that many music stores and online sales list The Classic Crime as a Christian band for the same reason. This is true of iTunes which is a major mover in music. However, The Classic Crime does not label themselves a 'Christian' band. As Matt writes on TCC's discussion board, "We believe faith is personal, and can be only held by an individual person. To entitle a group "Christian" would be to assume that the group has a collective soul, or at least individual souls tied to a solid collective belief. Not everyone in our band is decidedly set in their faith, and we respect that."[6] Justin DuQue stated that "3 of the 5 members in the band are Christian. We get that a lot being on a pseudo-Christian label (Tooth & Nail) but no we are not a Christian band. Our lyrics are very positive and hopeful though". Also, in an interview, vocalist Matt MacDonald spoke about how The Classic Crime does not like the Christian music industry[7].
